Tipperary Primary CareOur History
Our practice was set up and developed half a century ago by Dr John Wallace who was joined a few years later by Dr Joseph Browne. Together, with the help of various assistants over the years, they served the people of Tipperary Town and it’s surrounding environs with a dedicated, professional and compassionate approach to general practice health care.
Dr Caroline O’Connor joined the practice in 1998, followed by Dr Tom Purcell in 2008 and Dr Michael Sheahan in 2010, all of whom have since become full time partners.
Approximately fifteen years ago, the concept of a primary care centre was conceived by Dr Wallace and after many years of planning and development, the concept finally became a reality and in August 2016, Tipperary Primary Care centre was completed and we moved from our premises in St Michael’s Street to take up residence at the ‘Tipperary Primary Care Doctor’s Surgery’.
Last year, with the arrival of the Covid pandemic, both Dr Wallace and Dr Browne sadly retired earlier than they might have planned leaving Dr O’Connor , Dr Purcell and Dr Sheahan, to continue serving the health care needs of the patients, hopefully for many years to come.
